PUBLIC NOTICE

 

The Shackelford County Appraisal District & Central Tax Office will be closed to public foot traffic indefinitely as of March 23, 2020, in response to the national emergency caused by the virus pandemic.

This office receives mail and contact from individuals and corporations all over the continental US. Therefore, the district will cease physical contact with the general public for both the staff and general publics’ health as a precaution.

The district will be able to provide services through telephone, email, and online resources throughout this emergency.

Payments can be made online at www.shackelfordcad.com; through mail at PO Box 2247, Albany, TX 76430; and through use of the drop box located to the left of the main doors.

We continue to serve our community in the best possible manor under given conditions. We will update everyone as soon as possible if any changes are made.

 

 

Business Personal Property Rendition Deadline has been extended to May 15 for all Shackelford County taxpayers. An additional extension may be requested in writing before May 16 for extension to May 30.

 

Agriculture evaluation applications have also been extended to June 29. Applications received after this date will result in the late filing penalty. Ag valuation cannot be granted after certification July 20-25.

 

Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax. Shackelford County Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within Shackelford County as well as assuring that the mineral, utility, and the wind farm accounts are also appraised. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).  We are responsible for the fair market appraisal of all properties within each of the following taxing entities:

  • Moran ISD                                           
  • City of Albany

  • Lueders-Avoca ISD
  • Clyde ISD
